Speaking of Zhuhai, do you only know the Chimelong Water Park? In fact, Zhuhai has been a special economic zone since 1980, and is developing rapidly.
Now, let's introduce you to the beautiful city of Zhuhai through 5 numbers.
147 Islands

Zhuhai is located in the southwestern part of the Pearl River Estuary, serving as a hub in the Pearl River Delta.
According to historical records, there was a mountain peak in the Nanhai County during ancient times called "Zhushan (mountain of pearl)." In front of Zhushan, there was a vast bay that resembled a pearl; hence it was named Zhuhai Bay, which led to the name "Zhuhai (sea of pearl)."
Before the Tang and Song dynasties, Zhuhai was merely a remote set of islands scattered outside the Pearl River estuary. Due to the flourishing salt and silver mining industries there, the government set up Xiangshan County, initially under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Prefecture.
It became a county in 1953 and officially became Zhuhai City in 1979 during the Reform and Opening-up year. After its establishment as a city, Zhuhai rapidly became a Special Economic Zone in 1980, along with Shenzhen, becoming one of the first Special Economic Zones in China.
To everyone's surprise, Zhuhai itself has 147 islands, making it the city with the largest marine area, most islands, and longest coastline in the Pearl River Delta, earning the reputation of the "City of a Hundred Islands."
10 Class I ports of entry

A Class I port refers to a port approved by the State Council that allows the entry and exit of Chinese and foreign personnel, goods, items, and means of transportation directly across the border. It is a key port of the country.
Zhuhai has five land ports and five water ports. The five land ports are Gongbei, Hengqin, Qingmao, Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the Zhuhai-Macao Cross-Border Industrial Zone exclusive port.
The five water ports are Jiuzhou Port, Wanchai Port Passenger Ferry, Zhuhai Port, Doumen Port, and Wanshan Port.
Zhuhai is China's second-largest port city, second only to Shenzhen.
