Nanjing "Heart Bridge": Retro style brings back the 19th century

Though Nanjing has many bridges, there is a uniquely styled bridge located in the Pukou District, named the Puyun Road Bridge (浦雲路大橋).

The heart-shaped dome and the glow of the sunset have become a unique scenery of Nanjing Puyun Road Bridge, attracting many people to visit.
Puyun Road Bridge was completed in 2020, spanning over the Nanjing Southern River, with a design full of British charm.

Completed in June 2020, the Puyun Road Bridge spans over the Nanjing South City River, with its main tower designed in a classical architectural style. At first glance, it feels as though one has travelled back to 19th century Britiain.

The heart-shaped arches complement the sunset, creating a unique sight that attracts many visitors to stop by and take photos.

Suzhou Taihu "Heart Island": Aerial view of natural migratory bird flocks

Located at the border of Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province, Taihu (太湖), or Lake Tai, is one of the five largest freshwater lakes in China. In addition to its abundant aquatic resources, its natural scenery is also incredibly captivating, and among its most famous scenic spots is undoubtedly the Yuantouzhu (黿頭渚).

But within this vast lake, there is actually a hidden heart-shaped island, located near Happy Village in Taihu.

Because this "Heart Island" belongs to Taihu's pure ecological protection area, landing on the island is not allowed, and you can only enjoy its scenery through drones.

Thousands of cormorants reside on "Heart Island". When drones pass by, some cormorants slowly take off, some glide on the water, creating an interesting contrast with the white trees on the island and the clear lake water.

Penghu Qimei double heart stone weir: A heritage of fishing culture

In Penghu, Taiwan, there is also a very unique heart-shaped cultural spot, which is the Double Heart Stone Weir (雙心石滬) located in Qimei Township (七美鄉).

The stone weir is actually a traditional fish trap, consisting of parts such as weir dike, weir house, weir gate, and fish well, forming a semi-circular stone wall. When the tide rises, fish swim into the stone weir with the seawater to forage.

When the tide recedes, since the semicircular stone wall of the weir is higher than the sea level, the fish will be trapped inside the weir, allowing the fishermen to catch them.
