Recently, in Italy, Milan and Florence have appeared in a unique train on rails, the body of the car posted a number of attractions and cultural characteristics of Shenzhen.

Why did this train come to Italy? What is the relationship between Shenzhen and Italy?

Shenzhen promotional tram appears in Milan and Florence

The Shenzhen tram on the streets of Milan has five cars, with five posters on each side of the tram, showcasing different aspects of Shenzhen, including historical sites, attractions, and cultural features.

Each poster prominently displays "Amazing Shenzhen" and "China · Shenzhen" in both Chinese and English.

However, the tram is not actually from Shenzhen; it is a promotional advertisement by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, showcasing Shenzhen's unique cultural and tourism characteristics to Italy.

What has been promoted in the tram?

At the front of the tram is the resort destination in Dapeng New District Nanao Yangmeikeng—Shenzhen Luzui Villa (深圳鹿嘴山莊). This is a resort integrating culture, entertainment, and natural landscapes.

Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it features many natural attractions such as a wetland park and Jinlu Yintan beach (金鹿銀灘). It also has a unique full-sea-view cliff restaurant where you can dine while enjoying the magnificent scenery of Daya Bay, making it known as Shenzhen's "paradise on earth".

On the other side of the tram shows Shenzhen's entertainment landmark—OCT Harbour, with the famous Ferris wheel right in the center.

OCT Harbour is a national 5A tourist attraction, themed around water. The large shopping plaza there is designed to bring nature close to the shopping space, combining dining, entertainment, and leisure.

Shenzhen has many tourist areas and malls, but none combine attractions and shopping as perfectly as OCT Harbour.

The posters also feature "Birds' Paradise" Shenzhen Bay Park, "Shenzhen City Landmark" Shenzhen Civic Centre, "Shenzhen CBD" Ping An Finance Centre, as well as "Shenzhen Intangible Cultural Heritage" fish lantern, etc.

Several simple yet beautiful photos showcase the unique charm of Shenzhen.

Shenzhen and Italy have rich cultural and artistic exchanges

Why is Shenzhen promoting itself in Italy?

As the cultural and artistic center of Europe and a fashion capital, Italy has long been connected with Shenzhen culturally. As early as 2018, Shenzhen has been established a sister-city relationship with Milan, fostering collaboration in fashion, culture, and tourism.

Since then, Shenzhen has participated in Milan Fashion Week for four consecutive years, and in 2022, Milan hosted the first international promotion for Shenzhen Design Week and the Global Design Awards.

Besides cultural exchanges, the connection is strengthened in transportation.

In September 2023, The Shenzhen-Milan passenger flight route was launched, allowing travelers to quickly transfer to various cities in Europe, Africa, North America, and other regions via Milan.

In Milan Airport, travelers can also enjoy services such as visa-free transit and direct baggage check-in.

With the spread of promotional posters on the streets of Italy, Shenzhen not only hopes to attract more European tourists to visit and spending in Shenzhen, but also to further promote exchanges between the two sides, helping Shenzhen to better "go global".
