The pink muhly grass, also known as "Hairawn Muhly Grass" (毛芒亂子草), is characterised by its leaves and flower spikes changing colours with the seasons; the leaves are mostly green throughout the year, while the flowers appear pink and purplish-red in autumn.

Speaking of pink muhly grass sightseeing spots in Hangzhou, apart from Linping, Xiaoshan's Yiqiao Bridge (義橋大橋) now has risen to become the latest hotspot.

Recently, next to Yiqiao Bridge in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, the blooming pink muhly grass resembles a giant pink blanket covering the ground, draping the land in a dreamy pink gauze, which has become a romantic autumn scenery in Xiaoshan District.

When the breeze blows, this sea of pink seems to roll up layer upon layer of waves, making one feel as if they are in a scene from the fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland".

Chengdu's Music Flower Valley

Located in the Music Hundred Flowers Valley (百花音樂谷) in Xindu, Chengdu, this place has long been famous as a great spot for flower viewing. And it is now also known as a hotspot for pink muhly grass.

The pink muhly grass in the Hundred Flowers Valley is extremely lush, with each plant almost half the height of a person.

Imagine, whenever the wind blows, the muhly grass sways like waves on the hillside, looking like a dreamy pink maze from afar, romantic and somewhat mesmerising.

Compared to the above-mentioned spots, the flower sea along the riverbank in Pukou District (浦口河岸), Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is more like a hidden gem and is suitable for friends who like to take things slow.

The pink muhly grass along the Nanjing Pukou riverbank stretches in patches and clusters, intertwining and overlapping; the fine fuzz and delicate colour under the bright sunlight appear particularly adorable.

It is worth mentioning that beside the flower sea of muhly grass, there is also a dreamy pink beach. The beach looks like it's been splattered with a palette of colours dropped by an angel, scattering shades of pink, pinkish-yellow, and pinkish-blue across the sand.

Xi'an's Daming Palace National Heritage Park

Some might think that to see muhly grass, you have to go to remote areas, but there's a place in Xi'an that challenges this idea.

Xi'an Daming Palace National Heritage Park (大明宮國家遺址公園) is adjacent to multiple bus lines and subway routes. The park boasts about 20 acres of vast pink muhly grass.

The pink muhly grass is located south of the Taiye Pond (太液池) in the northern part of Daming Palace. You can find the destination by walking 5 minutes or so from the northern entrance of the scenic area.

Looking from afar, it feels like standing right in the middle of a vast wilderness, with a pink ocean as far as the eye can see.

When you come to the Taiye Pond in Daming Palace, you can also enjoy the shimmering lake reflecting the verdant willows around, forming a picturesque scene.
