Shenzhen's largest marine theme park, “Xiaomeisha Sea World”, was officially opened recently.
Occupying an area of 60,000 square metres, the park consists of five zones and exhibits more than 200 rare species, including those from the tropics and the poles, as well as a large number of technological elements, which are visually stunning and create a marine theme park that is full of both knowledge and fantasy. 5 theme zones with 200 rare species such as polar bears and beluga whales
The Xiaomeisha beachfront area (小梅沙海濱地區) started renovation in 2019 and is now re-opening as an international tourist resort.
The Xiaomeisha Beach Park and MGM Hotel in the area has been opened in May this year, and Shenzhen's largest sea theme park, "Xiaomeisha Sea World" (小梅沙海洋世界), has been also in trial operations since this National Day.
During the trial operation period, adult tickets will be nearly 15% off, making it a great attraction for young people and families.
The new Xiaomeisha Sea World has 5 main theme zones and houses over 200 species of precious and rare marine animals. The 5 zones are the Polar Pavilion, Tropical Pavilion, Whale and Dolphin Pavilion, Sea Lions Mixed Pool, and Azure Blue Cave Hall.
In the Polar Pavilion, you can see polar bears, seals, and penguins closely, as if you were in a snowy world. Then, stepping into the Tropical Pavilion, and you will find yourself being in the tropical ocean world with colorful marine life around in a minute, where you can see mesmerizing sharks, rare rays, and elegant jellyfish.
China's largest cylindrical aquarium
In the Azure Blue Cave Hall, there is the largest cylindrical aquarium in the country, where hundreds of thousands of sardines performing a magnificent 360° panoramic "sardine storm".
It's a marine spectacle not to be missed!
Inside the Dolphin House, you can hear dolphins "singing quartet" and a beluga whale "dancing waltz", which are really wonderful.
In the Sea Lion Co-habitation House, you can see how sea lions living underwater and enjoy their humorous interactions with people on the surface, which are full of fun for sure.

Xiaomeisha Sea World places great emphasis on technology.
With the help of artificial intelligence interaction, AI knowledge graph, VR/AR interaction, naked-eye 3D, laser projection, and 17 other technologies, they harmoniously interact with traditional organisms to deliver movie-like visual effects that unleash vast marine knowledge.
The Robotic Whale Shark is another must-see attraction. With the help of sophisticated simulation technology and a series of cutting-edge science, a Robotic Whale Shark dressed in armor in the water, simulating the real-life habitats of a whale shark.
The "Shark" interacts with human performers dressed as mermaids, showcasing beautiful, graceful movements and offering visitors an unprecedented oceanic world of fairy.
First-ever 360° blue cave projection show in China
The first-ever 360° Blue Cave curtain in China performs a Blue Cave projection show using multimedia technology. With the technology, traditional sea creatures will perform an oceanic story, leading audiences to see the depth and mystery of the ocean and offering a breathtaking visual experience.
In the Polar-themed flight theater, visitors can ride advanced flying chairs, weaving among polar animals.
As the plot of the film progresses, the chairs rise, dive, shuttle, glide, vibrate, and with various effects. Visitors feel like they are flying high in the polar sky, enjoying the thrill of actual flying.
The exterior wall of Xiaomeisha Sea World visitor centre has a giant LED screen that uses glasses-free 3D technology to tell stories of the ocean, and it's a stunning visual experience.
After it, visitors can purchase exquisite souvenirs at the service centre. On the second and third floors of the center, there are ocean-themed Chinese and Western restaurants offering various marine-themed meals.
There also a lot of rooms such as labs, medical rooms, incubation rooms, test rooms, and inspecting rooms, which are used for marine research communication, popular science research, and more.
It's not only a marine knowledge platform but also a "secret garden" for marine enthusiasts.
