To celebrate Chinese National Day, Shenzhen staged a seven-day drone-performing light show across five districts from October 1st to 7th, themed "City in the Sky, Full of Possibilities".
As many as 10,000 drones gathered in the night sky, setting two world records and bringing a visual feast of technology and art. Let's capture these stunning moments now.
On the evening of September 26, 10,197 drones took off to the sky over Shenzhen Bay Park in formation as music played.
The 15-minute drone light show vividly depicted the transformation of Shenzhen from past to future, with the drones taking on forms such as a Dapeng spreading its wings, intelligent humans, spaceships, and cities in the sky. The scale of the show was unprecedented.
With the performance of 10,000 drones, two Guinness World Records were set for "most unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) airborne simultaneously from a single computer" and "most UAVs forming airborne patterns".
This performance also kicked off the seven-day series of performances for the National Day.
On October 1, the National Day, up to 10,000 drones gave a world-wide performance in the five districts of Shenzhen. Then for seven days, until October 7, Shenzhen held the "City in the Sky, Full of Possibilities" city-wide 10,000 drone-performing light show in five areas.
The drone formation performance will be themed on international, cultural, technological, innovative, and energetic aspects respectively, combining features of Shenzhen.
In relay form, it will be performed in the five areas one after another starting at 8 PM each night, each lasting for about 15 minutes. The following are the highlights of the drone-performing light shows in five areas on the National Day.
