Christmas is coming soon. If you don't want to go abroad but still want to enjoy a white Christmas, the Greater Bay Area has some great options!

In Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Zhuhai, there are at least four indoor ski resorts that can satisfy people of different ages, including the world's first stereoscopic cross-country ski run, world's longest ski of junior grade, and various snow play facilities of different difficulty levels, allowing you to enjoy a white Christmas!

Shenzhen: Alps Ice and Snow World at Windows of the World

Geographically the closest to Hong Kong and of a considerable scale is "Alps Ice and Snow World at Windows of the World" (世界之窗·阿爾卑斯冰雪世界), accessible via the metro Line 1 to the Windows of the World station after crossing the Luohu checkpoint.

If your sole purpose is to ski, you can directly purchase tickets for the Ice and Snow World without buying the entrance ticket for Windows of the World.

Alps Ice and Snow World is divided into a ski area, an ice-skating area, and an ice sculpture area. The ski area is further divided into a professional ski zone and a tire skiing zone.

The professional ski zone features a specialized ski run approximately 15 meters wide and 70 meters long, with a vertical drop of 20 meters. Its straight and column-free design provides a thrilling rush from top to bottom, making it a must-try for those who seek excitement.

For children, the skating area and ice sculpture area are colorful snow play parks where they can enjoy activities like tire skiing, ice bumper cars, building snowmen, and snowball fights, making it a great place for family fun.

There are many photo spots here, such as Nordic towns, time tunnels, King's City, and viewing transparent ice sculptures. Some areas even have snow effects, allowing visitors to experience the taste of the snow country.

Shenzhen: Window of the World·Alps Ice and Snow World

Shenzhen: Kalu Ice and Snow World 

A bit farther away, located within the Mission Hills Eco Sports Park in Longhua District, is Shenzhen's largest indoor ski resort named "Kalu Ice and Snow World" (卡魯冰雪世界).

Kalu Ice and Snow World opened in April 2023, covering an area of about 12,000 square meters. It features two main themes: an indoor ski resort and a snow play area.

The ski resort area covers 5,400 square meters, making it the largest indoor ski resort in Shenzhen and also the ice and snow sports training base of Guangdong Province!

One of the highlights is the pillarless design and extra high space, offering an expansive view. The ski resort uses a realistic snowmaking technique, with snow quality close to natural powder snow, keeping the temperature between -3 to -5 ˚c.

Inside the venue is a ski slope that is over 100 meters long and 20 meters wide, with a height difference of about 10 meters, allowing you to enjoy the thrill of diving!

The snow play area includes an ice and snow park, with snow tube slides, spiral slides, children's sleds, children's snowmobiles, etc., allowing children to experience the fun of being in the snow in a safe environment.

There are many photo spots inside, including Jungfraujoch Sphinx Observatory, St Mark's Campanile, and Finnish Hunter log Cabin, making you feel like you are in a Nordic fairy tale town!

Besides skiing, the first floor also features family-friendly warm dining rooms and DIY handcraft rooms. The venue will periodically hold DIY and other activities.

Carlu Ice and Snow World is located in the Guanlan Ecological Sports Center, where there are many interesting sports facilities nearby, such as golf, equestrian experiences, ice skating rinks, large ball pools, and large trampoline parks. It is a great place for a family vacation!

Guangzhou: Hot Snow Miracle 

In Guangzhou, there is also a very large indoor ski facility.

Located in the Sunac Land of Huadu District, Guangzhou, "Hot Snow Miracle," (熱雪奇迹) formerly known as "Sunac Snow World," is the largest indoor snow-themed park in Guangzhou.

Covering an area of 75,000 square meters, "Hot Snow Miracle" maintains a year-round temperature of between -4 to -6 ˚c.

It is known for its soft and delicate snow quality, comparable to real snow powder, providing an excellent tactile experience and offering top-notch indoor skiing facilities and experiences.

There are five snow tracks of varying difficulty levels, including two world's first three-dimensional cross-over snow tracks and one approximately 400-meter long, world's longest indoor alpine snow track.

The slope of the snow tracks can reach up to 21°, with the track's length and width around 460 X 50 meters, suitable for thrill-seeking young people.

In addition to the ski slopes, the entertainment and snow experience zones offer various snow play facilities such as electric snow tires, snow bikes, ball pools, aerial walkways, suspension bridges, etc., creating an outdoor amusement park experience in the snow.

The snow area allows visitors to enjoy the fun of playing in the snow while it's snowing, experiencing the real charm of a snow country.

For children who do not know how to ski, there are kids' ski tutorials, youth competitive skiing teams, and coaching teams providing instant teaching, so kids can learn while playing and have fun.

Guangzhou: Sunac Snow World (Hot Snow Miracle)

Zhuhai: Molin Hotel Resort Zhuhai Jinwan Ice and Snow Sports City

In Zhuhai, there is an "Ice and Snow Sports City" (冰雪運動城) located on the first floor of the Molin Hotel Resort Zhuhai Jinwan.

It covers an area of about 6,000 square meters and is the largest indoor ski resort in Zhuhai.

When compared with Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Zhuhai's Ice and Snow Sports City does not have extreme ski tracks, but it is a colorful ice and snow amusement park and is definitely a snow-playing themed park.

Inside, there are real ice slides, ice slides, cave exploration, castle mazes, all made of real ice and snow and is to give a true snow experience.

Online platforms regard this place as if in "Harbin", possibly because of its real snow which offers a snow play experience similar to that in Harbin.

If you don't know how to ski, there are dolphin-shaped guiding tools that you can push around, or you can sit on them and be pushed by others to "explore" and enjoy the experience of playing in the snow.

Molin Hotel Resort Zhuhai Jinwan itself is also a themed hotel focusing on parent-child activities. Besides the Ice and Snow Sports City, there is also a children's amusement city covering an area of about 3,500 square meters, with a giant children's castle, water rocking cars, bumper cars, VR games, etc.

It is the largest hotel entertainment complex in South China and is a great destination for having fun with children.
