As we enter the spring and summer, blooming flowers can be found across the nation, and Shenzhen just across the river from us is no exception!
In this springtime, if you're considering a short trip to see beautiful blossoms, make sure to note down the following four best flower-viewing spots in Shenzhen!
Bougainvillea flowers in Shenzhen Garden Expo Park
The first place to be introduced is the Huifang Garden(匯芳園) in the Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park.
Huifang Garden is a Lingnan garden with a "Chaoshan style", surrounded by mountains on three sides, with exquisite architecture and craftsmanship.
The green tiles and white walls of the huts are matched with traditional Chaoshan folk crafts such as clay sculptures, colourful paintings, gold lacquer and wood carvings.
But the most beautiful sight in Huifang Garden has to be the bougainvillea flowers blooming in spring.
It is also known as triangle plums, they cover the entire Garden Expo Park from early March onwards, with those in the Huifang Garden being the most luxuriant.
The bougainvilleas pour down from the old eaves like waterfalls. In an array of dazzling colors and set off by flying eaves and colorful carved white walls, they bring an intoxicating sense of poetry and classical Chinese beauty.

Rapeseed flowers in Guangming Happy Farm
From late February to mid-March each year, Shenzhen's Guangming Happy Farm(光明歡樂田園) is surrounded by vast expanses of rapeseed flowers, creating a stunning seascape of vibrant yellow wherever you look.
The rapeseed flower field in the Guangming Happy Farm covers over 400,000 square meters. Being there is like walking into a maze of flowers, surrounded by golden rapeseed blossoms.
In the rapeseed flower fields, there is also an elevated railway line. This is actually the route of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway(贛深高鐵), and if you're lucky, you can use staggered photography to capture the image of a train speeding through the flower fields!

Azalea flowers in Wutong Mountain
Shenzhen's highest peak, Wutong Mountain, has been a popular flower viewing spot since ancient times. Beginning in mid-March each year, you can witness the magnificent scene of its azalea flowers (also named as rhododendron) in full bloom.
There are over a hundred types of azaleas planted on Wutong Mountain, distributed around the "little Wutong" with various spots to visit.
The rhododendron moulmainense(毛棉杜鵑) is the most famous flower species in Wutong Mountain. It has the largest community of rhododendron moulmainense in China here.
When spring comes and flowers bloom, the rhododendron moulmainense flowers cover the entire mountain. The forest becomes a sea of flowers, the entire mountain is draped in layers of pink and purple clouds, seemingly a paradise on earth.

Chinese roses in Wuzhiba Forest Park
Wuzhiba Forest Park is located in Guangming, Shenzhen, with an area of more than 33,000 square metres. The park is planted with more than a hundred varieties of Chinese and foreign roses, such as Chinese ancient roses, vine roses and modern roses.
Every March, these roses bloom brilliantly. With clusters of flowers in red, yellow, orange, pink and more, forming a charming world of flowers.
There are also corridors, bridges and fishponds in Wuzhiba Park, showing the characteristics of Lingnan gardens and forests. During holidays, it would be very enjoyable to stroll in the park with three or five friends while enjoying the beautiful purple and red flowers!
