HK Panda: A full guide to follow the growth of panda twin cubs

Editor︰Huang Yayen

The Hong Kong-born panda twins in Ocean Park made their first public debut on February 16, allowing the public to get a close-up look at "Elder Sister" and "Little Brother."

How can we visit the site? Any shortcuts? And any other ways to follow the daily lives of the siblings for free? Let's take a closer look now.

Ocean Park offers the public to visit panda twins for 5 minutes

The best way to get a first-hand look at the adorable daily life of "Elder Sister" and "Little Brother" is to visit the Giant Panda Pavilion at the Ocean Park.

Currently, the public visiting hours for "Elder Sister" and "Little Brother" are from 10 am to 3 pm. Visitors just need to line up in front of the pavilion with out getting tickets in advance.

The visit will take about 5 minutes, so visitors should take the time to say hello to the two siblings after entering the venue.

After entering the pavilion, visitors can follow a designated route and direction to see giant panda mother "Ying Ying", the twin babies, and "Le Le". They can capture the adorable appearances of the siblings through the glass.

During peak visitation times, Ocean Park will manage crowd flow by distributing "return queue time tickets," allowing visitors to enjoy other attractions in the park first before returning to queue at a specified time to enter the exhibit, thus reducing waiting time.

On February 16, crowd control measures began at around 10:30 am, with visitors given timed tickets to enter in batches. By 11 am, entry tickets for the 12 pm slot were already being distributed, and a sign at the end of the queue indicated a waiting time of about 45 minutes.

Exclusive 30-minute viewing for VIP tour

Ocean Park has specially launched a program called "A Treasured Moment with the Giant Panda Twins". This VIP tour is limited to one group per day, with a maximum of 40 people per group.

The fee is HKD 1,500, which includes the standard Ocean Park ticket (standard ticket price is HKD 498).

Group members can register at 9:15 AM and enter the venue at 9:30 AM. Ticket holders can stay in the panda exhibition hall for about half an hour, take photos with the pandas, and receive a certificate of their visit to the twin pandas.

Where can I watch Giant Panda live?

In fact, if you don't have time to visit in person, you can follow the adorable moments of the panda twins closely via live streaming and short videos online.

On the Ocean Park official website and Facebook, there is a "Giant Panda Live Streaming" allowing you to closely watch the panda siblings, following their play, eating, and every move.

The live streaming is available daily from 10 am to 3 pm, and replays are provided from 3 pm until 10 am the next day.

NowTV free channel "Panda TV" available for viewing

As for television, the NowTV free channel "Panda TV" can also meet your needs.

Since January this year, HKT's Now TV has teamed up with Ocean Park to launch the free channel "Panda TV," live streaming the living of the six giant pandas at Ocean Park, and so the public can keep watching on them anytime, anywhere.

Starting in February, clips featuring "Ying Ying", "Le Le", and the twin panda siblings will be added. Additionally, the public can view exclusive short videos on the Now TV Panda webpage, enjoying the secret moments of the pandas' lives.
