The Kai Tak Sports Park (啟德體育園), set to officially open in March 2025, is Hong Kong's largest sports infrastructure project to date.

An area equivalent to 1.5 Victoria Parks
Kai Tak Sports Park covers approximately 28 hectares, equivalent to 1.5 Victoria Parks (about 19 hectares). It is a key project in the redevelopment plan of the former Kai Tak Airport site, with a cost of HKD31.9 billion. It is a new landmark for large-scale integrated sports and recreational entertainment in Hong Kong.

Kai Tak Stadium is constructed with over 20,000 triangular aluminium panels
Kai Tak Stadium (啟德主場館) of Kai Tak Sports Park is designed with the "Pearl of the Orient" as the main theme, which aims to create a shiny pearl emerging from the sea.
The exterior of the building are composed of 27,000 triangular aluminium panels. With proprietary spraying technology, the panels reflect a spectrum of "pearlescent" under the sunlight, creating a unique visual effect.

Kai Tak Sports Park features 3 main venues
The Kai Tak Sports Park comprises 3 venues: Kai Tak Stadium, Kai Tak Arena (啟德體藝館) and Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground (啟德青年運動場), the first two being multifunctional venues.
Kai Tak Stadium can accommodate 50,000 spectators and is equipped with a retractable roof, flexible turf systems, and convertible stage and configurations, which make it suitable for various sports events, concerts and cultural celebrations.
Combined with Kai Tak Arena and Youth Sports Ground, the total capacity of the three venues can reach up to 63,000 attendees.

Kai Tak Main Stadium features a retractable roof supported by 4 sets of steel trusses
One of the key features of the Kai Tak Sports Park's Main Stadium is its retractable roof, designed with soundproofing specifications.
This roof is predominantly supported by four large main steel trusses, each weighing up to 15,000 tonnes, with a maximum span of 180 metres. The process of opening or closing the roof takes approximately 30 minutes.

The 5-story Kai Tak Mall with Japan's largest indoor amusement park
In addition to the three main venues, Kai Tak Sports Park also has three Kai Tak Mall (啟德零售館) spanning 700,000 square feet.
One of the standout features is Kai Tak Mall 1, a five-storey retail pavilion, which is home to the first overseas flagship store of Japan's largest indoor amusement park, TOKYO JOYPOLIS.
This venue boasts dozens of attractions that blend cutting-edge technology and innovative entertainment, including the world's first "SONIC Stadium". Additionally, it houses a world-class bowling centre with 40 professional lanes.

A total of 120,000 participants were mobilised for drills
Kai Tak Sports Park conducted two large-scale drills in January and February 2025. A total of about 63,000 people participated in the drills to test the operation and capacity of the three venues, namely, the Kai Tak Stadium, the Kai Tak Arena and the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground.
The results showed that 80% of the spectators left the venue within 20 minutes and dispersed from the Park in about 40 minutes.

700-metre Kai Tak Sports Avenue runs through north and south
The 700-metre-long Kai Tak Sports Avenue (啟德體育大道) can be described as the central axis of Kai Tak Sports Park.
It begins at the northern end with the Kai Tak Station Square (啟德車站廣場), passing through the Kai Tak Mall, Kai Tak Arena, and Kai Tak Main Stadium, extending southward to Dining Cove (美食海灣) facing Victoria Harbour.
This boulevard connects the park's facilities and the nearby MTR station, featuring canopies, climbing walls, and other amenities to attract visitors.

Recreational space available for citizens to enjoy leisure activities
Kai Tak Sports Park is not only a venue for cultural and sports events but also provides over eight hectares of recreational space. This includes multiple sports pitches, jogging tracks, children's playgrounds, and lawns.
It is also connected to the green corridor network of cycling paths within the Kai Tak Development area for community use.

Opening ceremony on March 1
Kai Tak Sports Park will officially open on March 1, 2025. An opening ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm on that day, and four free TV stations will broadcast the 1.5-hour opening performance at 9:30 pm.
The performance will consist of different segments with stories and themes, featuring large-scale dance, sports, and sing performances to showcase the history and transformation of Kai Tak.
Walk to two major MTR stations only 10 minutes after enjoying the show
Kai Tak Sports Park is located between the MTR Kai Tak Station and Sung Wong Toi Station (宋皇臺站). It's about a 10-minute walk for citizens to reach.
Additionally, there are a total of 3 major bus stops around the park, namely Kowloon City Interchange (also known as Regal Oriental Hotel Station and Sung Wong Toi Park Station), Argyle Street Playground Station, and Kowloon City Ferry Bus Terminus. As many as 60 bus routes pass through the neighbourhood.
