New exhibitions and programmes of HK Palace Museum coming!

Summer holiday is around the corner, and the Hong Kong Palace Museum is rolling out new exhibits for the public!

In addition to the special exhibition "The Adorned Body: French Fashion and Jewellery" launched in June, starting this month, there will be a host of exciting exhibitions and events lined up, including a Ming Dynasty ceramics exhibition, a museum overnight experience, workshops and more to come in an artistic summer!

Ming Dynasty ceramic treasures from the Palace Museum

The new thematic exhibition of Hong Kong Palace Museum, titled "Brilliance: Ming Dynasty Ceramic Treasures from the Palace Museum, 1368-1644" will open to the public on 10 July (Wednesday) in Gallery 3.

This is the second major ceramic exhibition jointly organised with the Palace Museum in Beijing since the opening, which is definitely worth a visit.

The exhibition is organised chronologically in three sections, exploring the development and the outstanding achievements of ceramics in the early, mid, and late Ming dynasty in form, glaze, and design.

Significantly, all exhibits are displayed in Hong Kong for the first time, including 21 grade-one national treasures.

The stunning treasures includes a pear-shaped vase with "Three Friends of Winter" from the Hongwu period (1368–1398), a dish with dragons among waves from the Xuande period (1426–1435), a cup with garden scenes in autumn, from the Chenghua period (1465–1487), and a garlic-mouth bottle with birds and flowers, from the Wanli period (1537–1620).

First "Adventure Night@HKPM" sleepover programme

To celebrate the summer holiday, the Hong Kong Palace Museum will also launch the first "Adventure Night@HKPM" sleepover programme from 6-7 August.

During this period, participating families can explore the museum at night. The programme also includes games modelled after ancient imperial court pastimes and bedtime storytelling, ensuring an extraordinary evening unlike any other.

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Palace Museum will also host a series of special workshops, allowing more people to learn the stories behind the exhibits and embark on an immersive museum tour. The workshop contents are as follows:
