As a famous aquarium and theme park in Asia, Hong Kong's Ocean Park opened on January 10, 1977.
Since its opening, the Ocean Park has always been a must-visit attraction for tourists in Hong Kong, receiving more than 2 million visitors each year.
In the park, visitors can take cable cars and escalators to travel between various attractions, watch marine animals in the aquarium, enjoy dolphin shows at the Ocean Theatre, and have fun with numerous thrilling rides.
As one of the largest ocean parks in the world, Hong Kong's Ocean Park covers an area of 170 acres.
The park's facilities are distributed over Nam Long Shan and Wong Chuk Hang Valley.
The mountain area mainly features the aquarium, Ocean Theatre, Sea Wave Pavilion, and amusement rides; the valley area includes a water park, garden theatre, goldfish pavilion, and the Middle Kingdom Village, which is built to emulate historic relics, alongside folk art performances.
Giant pandas are the "stars" of the park. On March 11, 1999, the first batch of pandas An An and Jia Jia, which were gifted by the Central Government, arrived at the park.
2007 marked the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the Motherland, and the Central Government gifted the second batch of giant pandas Ying Ying and Le Le to Hong Kong. A public visit was arranged on the day of the return anniversary.
By the end of 2024, the third batch of giant pandas An An and Ke Ke, gifted to Hong Kong by the Central Government, officially met the public.
The most exciting event was when Ying Ying and Le Le gave birth to Hong Kong's first locally-born pair of giant pandas in August 2024; they are fraternal twins, a boy and a girl.
