China's first military parade to commemorate victory in the War of Resistance

On September 3, 2015, a grand assembly commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing.

The main content of this commemoration was the morning's parade, which was also the first commemorative parade for the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War since the establishment of the People's Republic of China.

The previous 14 times were National Day parades. Participating People's Liberation Army consisted of 11 marching contingents made up of 3,590 people, 27 ground equipment contingents, and 10 air echelons made up of 183 active planes from the army, navy and air force.

Another highlight of the event was the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping. He mentioned "peace" 18 times in his speech and announced that China would reduce its army by 300,000.
