China's domestically built large cruise ships have entered the stage of mass production.
In January this year, the first homegrown large cruise ship, Adora Magic City (愛達·魔都號), embarked on its maiden commercial voyage; In April, the second one entered shipyard for final assembly.
Compared to the first domestically built cruise ship, the second one is bigger and more advanced, marking that Chinese shipbuilding industry is stepping forward to mass construction while initially mastering the key technologies.
Equipped with comprehensive entertainment facilities
In comparison to Adora Magic City, the new ship boasts a larger size, with a total tonnage of 141,900 tonnes, a length of 341 metres, a width of 37.2 metres, and features 2,144. cabins.
The ship is designed with a draft is 8.17 metres, a maximum draft of 8.4 metres, and a maximum speed of 22.7 knots.
In terms of facilities, the second domestically built large cruise ship is equipped with a 16-story upper building life and entertainment area, which includes a large performance centre, restaurants, specialty restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping plazas, art galleries, children's centres, SPAs, water parks, and other leisure and entertainment facilities.

Construction efficiency improved by 20% for 2nd cruise ship
Apart from being larger, the building speed of the new ship has also accelerated. The construction efficiency is expected to be increase 20% than the first ship, including a dock cycle compressed by nearly 8 months.
According to the plan, the second ship is expected to undergo sea trials in June 2026, be named and delivered by the end of 2026, and start international routes in 2027.
It's worth noting that the second domestically built large cruise ship will be routinely operated from home port in the southern part of China, heading towards the South Asian and Southeast Asian regions.
Elements of Lingnan culture and the "Maritime Silk Road" will be blended in its design.
The cruise company also plans to deploy cruise routes departing from Guangzhou at the Nansha Cruise Homeport this year, enriching the travel choices for consumers in the Greater Bay Area and even the whole southern part of China.
