Mainland China's first private life insurance company launched

On June 18, 2003, after nearly a decade, the first private capital investment life insurance company in Mainland China, Minsheng Life Insurance (民生人壽), officially opened with a registered capital of 6 billion CNY.

Minsheng Life Insurance was led and formed by the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce (全國工商聯), including 21 domestic companies such as Wanxiang Group, Sichuan New Hope, and later also absorbed the shares of a foreign companies in Singapore.

Approved by the then China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), Minsheng Life Insurance began its trial operation on April 1, 2003, with 28 products.

Coinciding with the "SARS" in 2003, Minsheng Life Insurance also launched the "Health Guard" package and "Love Messenger" package, and developed a special product, "Minsheng Care Special Disease Insurance".
